We may be losing already . . .

The scary thing here is that my kids are getting this dogma (mankind caused Global Warming) in school as part of the curriculum already. I'm not that worried about the dogma as such. Like Uncle Orson, I'm old enough to remember Global Cooling, the Population Bomb, running out of Energy by 1985 (remember that one?), and on and on. What concerns me about this is that the preaching is taking the place of the scientific method, logic, and the quest for verifiable truth. The problem reporters have, as Uncle Orson demonstrates, is that they lack both the knowledge and critical reasoning skills to ask the right questions. Once environmental auto-de-fe's take the place of the scientific method in the classroom, our kids lose the same ability. That's scarier - to me, anyway - than anything Al Gore has in his bag of tricks.
