1: The only reason he brought up the bible was to illustrate his point of historical bias
2: He's already gone on the record of disagreeing with Obama's politics. Is he beating a dead horse? Maybe, but at least it's on topic which is more than can be said about 95% of his rants on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings.
3: Intellectual bias is bipartisan. We all have our blind spots which was the point of the essay in the first place.
4: Churchill's actions during WWII are in everyone's interest, not just conservatives. Considering he's evaluating a biography, waxing eloquent about his actions is no more out of line than, say, analyzing Lincoln's politics while reviewing a book on the civil war.
