Followed the link to Brin's - and others - comments. Now, I like Brin's stories. At least those I've actually read. But I like Card as much or more. Read more of his stuff and some hasn't appealed to me, but I don't think it was because of the writing.

But I don't buy into most of his comments. I mean, even if Card uses the "demi-god" approach all the time (which I don't agree with), so what? Everyone I know has one thing or another that they don't like in stories. Brin's comments tell us more about his personal taste than what is a good or bad story.

And the other commenters? Fascist? Homo-phobic? I don't think they know the meaning of the words they use. But that, to me, is part of the problem with the Left. Words are designed to destroy the person so no one listens to what they actually say!
