Hammer has never seen a tax increase he liked. He doesn't trust the commissioners or the board of education. The County, and the city, can legally raise taxes to 1.50 per $100 Last year the City was at 0.615 and the county was at 0.6615 8 cents per hundred on a $150,000 house will cost the homeowner an additional $120 per year, or $2.30 a week, or $0.32 a day. Ship a latte once a week and the kids of Guilford will do much better.
