Music hall not needed

Dear Editor,

The new entertainment center scheduled to be built downtown does not need to be built as the monies being used and/or raised could be better spent helping those in dire need. It really makes no sense to build something of which Greensboro has an ample supply. Monies from building all of these entertainment venues would solve the homeless problem in no time.

Just because somebody succumbs to pressures from a special interest group who wants favors to them for supporting their campaigns does not make it justifiable to construct something like an entertainment center for a particle group of people. Besides, this entertainment venue will not be profitable and it will not provide that many jobs to those who need them.

The persons involved in this project proclaim they have private monies raised, but there has been very little proof of them raising any monies. You can bet the taxpayers are going to foot most of the bill. My point is that there are greater needs for taxpayers' monies than to build an entertainment center for an elite group of people.
