Yes, I hope all the Obama voters are happy with seeing their paychecks shrink. Maybe this what they wanted, and sometimes be careful what you wish for.

The language the left uses is a deliberate and conscious attempt to manipulate the way you think about things. Thus, only in the last 24 hours, what were previously called gun control measures by the mass media, now, after Obama’s 23 executive orders, they’re now referred to by NPR, and other left-wing outlets, as anti-gun violence measures. Well, who could be pro-gun violence, I ask you? Also, executive orders are no longer referred to on the left as executive orders but executive action, because executive orders no doubt sounds much too dictatorial and regal. But, then, what can we truly expect from King Barry I? And, so, this is the liberal language of lies by which they seek in a calculated way to manipulate the way you think about public policy. Just sign me off as, An Independent Thinker.

Obama runs nothing. Senators and big business run everything. Until you get term limits on senators and special interest and lobbyists out of Washington, nothing will ever change. Print that, Hammer.

The US is not a democracy. The US is an oligarchy. You might want to print the definition of oligarchy so your uneducated readers know what it means.

Well, I guess I’ve about seen it all now. They’re making a movie about Casey Anthony. I just pray that any profits that are made from this movie, or for any book, about this woman who has never been forthcoming about what she did with her child, hopefully the profits will go to help battered children, battered and abused children and that she, or her family, will never see a penny of it. But, of course, that’s probably not really the way things work, now is it? Should be, but not.

I’d like to respond to the beep from Steely Dan Fan, man, whoever that fool is, indicating that the police officer was going 15 miles an hour under the speed limit so the woman would pass him so that he could investigate her, subsequently causing her to flee the police and kill herself with a revoked license. The police have a right to go under the limit like everyone does. I’ve never heard where someone must do the maximum speed limit. He was not impeding her. She had ample space to go around him, which she failed to do. So, he had to slow down to get her to come around. And that’s – once he turned on his lights to have her pull over, she refused to do so. She got what she deserved. It’s on her, not on them, the police. And Mr. Steely Dan Fan, man, you better learn how to drive.

Editor’s Note: The minimum speed out on the interstate is 45 mph.

Well, Ms. Bellamy-Small, I would like to know how many guns you’ve collected this morning. How many white people was there turning in their guns? How many African-Americans? How many Latinos? How many Mexicans? All I got to say is that anybody that would turn in their gun this day and time is crazy as they can be. That’s the kind that’s followed Jim Jones’ people off into the wilderness and drinked poison water. I’d never turn my gun to nobody if I had 50 of them. Anybody that does, they need their head examined, because I’m sure the ones that does the most of the crime wouldn’t dare with their gun. It’s the criminals that has the guns. They have a way of getting guns, and people that …

I don’t know who does your proofreading, but you need to get someone else. Because at The Sound of the Beep article from Jan. 10, it said it was continued on page 24 when, indeed, it was continued on page 25. Also, on your Letters to the Editor, it said continued on page number 40, and the whole edition was only 36 pages. So, somebody is asleep at the wheel someplace. And all the criticism of our people on the government comes right back on you; because, evidently, you all cannot do your job. Thank you.

Yes, UNC lost to Miami last night, and already the excuses have started with this 10 and five start and 0 and 2 in the ACC. Seems like they’re too young. They’re too inexperienced. Or else the humidity is too high, global warming, caused by the financial cliff. Next it’ll be the debt ceiling.

Thank you for this unusual service. Newtown, gun control. Whatever. Republicans, I’m a Republican, are going to lose the family support if they don’t something for either mental health or gun control. They’ve already lost the gays. They’ve lost the Spanish and Latinos. If they don’t do something about gun control and mental health, they will lose the families, me included. Thank you.

Hi, Rhino. I don’t call you often, but when I read this week’s Sound of the Beep and all these people worrying about guns and stuff. I would like for everybody – I know that you won’t print this. But read Daniel 12:10, and you’ll find in that verse the problem that’s going on in our country. It’s going to be prevalent around the whole world. People worrying about guns, and marriage to men and men. You can read in Genesis what happened to that if you go back to Sodom and Gomorrah. Then if them people want to live like that, put them on an island somewhere. Good grief.
% % %
To all the lovely Latino ladies out there. Thank you.
% % %
Yeah, continuing. It’s prevalent, because people have gone away from the word of God, from God itself, or try to kick him out. You can expect trouble. You just imagine what happens to this country if God takes his hand off of it. I suggest that you train up your children for these jobs out here. My Bible says, when the righteous rule, the people rejoice, and when they don’t, they mourn. And I tell you what, but I tell you what, I don’t know about you, but we’ve been mourning for a long time. Just take this to heart people out there that read the Beep. Change, put godly leaders up in our offices and you’ll see things change. But if you don’t expect the same old thing. Expect the same old thing. But you better make sure they go by the word of …

It’s Jan. 11, and if you think that you’ve heard everything that could come out of Obama’s administrations, you’ve got about two seconds. Now, they say that they’ve got a bill in Congress. They’re going to put a 75-cent tax on all the flu vaccines. This is the end of the line. Vote for him again. Get him in for a third term.

Yes, Steely Dan Fan, man. Yeah, I’d like to know, I don’t know what this guy’s name is. I don’t remember offhand. But he’s getting ready to retire. And he thinks he’s going to sue the county for, I don’t know, $43,000 or something in back pay or something. Or he wants to walk away with thousands of dollars and all because the last three years that he thinks he was underpaid and all that. And why didn’t he bring that up in the last three years? You know, in this day and time and the economy, where does he get off acting like that? I mean, can’t he leave well enough alone? I mean, he’s got to have plenty enough money. You know, for crying out loud. I got $112 in my back account. I’m on disability. It’s crazy.
% % %
Editor’s Note: Maybe during the last three years he hoped the Guilford County commissioners would pay him the amount they are legally required to pay him so he wouldn’t have to sue.
% % %
Yes, Steely Dan Fan, again, man. Look, these county people, you know, they want to avoid lawsuits. So, they give people raises, but then they open themselves up to other lawsuits by people who think they are entitled to other raises. And I fully agree. What they should have done was kept their dern mouth to shut to begin with. Because none of them were entitled to any raises except for the little minions that do the actual work. Those are the ones that are entitled to the raises, not the bigwigs who have been overpaid.

This is just a message for all of those who think Social Security is an entitlement. We worked and paid into that 40, 50, over 50 years that some of us have worked. Last year, just for the general public’s information, our COLA, cost-of-living adjustment, was 3.6 percent based on the cost-of-living by Washington. This year our COLA was 1.7 percent. In my case it amounted to about an extra $12 a month. And my rent went up $24 a month. So, does the COLA keep up with the actual cost-of-living? No, it doesn’t.

Citizens of Greensboro, wake up and smell the coffee. The Better Buildings for Greensboro program that was funded by the American Recovery and Investment Act has not spent the money. They won the $5 million grant in 2010. Would you believe that it is now we’re going in the 2013 and people that were approved in 2011 have not yet had anything done to their homes yet? They were approved and they’re getting ready to lose money. They’re getting ready to send money back to the federal government. What type of fools do we have running this program? Who cannot spend $5 million in two years on improvement for a city that needs improvement? Thank you very much. Bye-bye.

I would really like to see how Greensboro has fared with other cities that receive the $5 million from the recovery act and see what our ratings are. Did other cities spend all theirs, or are they about to send back millions like we are? Thank you.

Good morning. It’s Jan. 14. I read in the morning Greensboro news and fish wrap that one of the commissioners is approving a tax increase and putting it on the voters for approving the bonds. But I personally believe the bonds were approved by a majority of liberals and the five colleges and universities in Greensboro that are transients, don’t own property and don’t pay taxes here. Nuff said. Thank you.

Yes, Jeff Thigpen’s article today in the News & Record was ridiculous, talking about the taxpayers had voted for raising taxes. Under his watch on the county commissioners, they put out almost $900 million of the $1.1 billion of tax increases that the taxpayers voted on. Secondly, they say it’s only 15 percent of the budget. We don’t get to vote on the other 85 percent of the budget, which included the big tax raises for the department heads, which even county commissioners didn’t get to vote on. So, cut expenses, Jeff Thigpen.

It’s Jan. 14, and I was an automobile salesman for years. President Obama’s speaking, and he’s stacked the deck by calling on the people to ask him questions he wanted, like MSNBC and so on. He is the best salesman that I have ever heard in my life. He reminds me of the deal that was supposed to be by a real good salesmen, but he was no better than Obama. He sold a farmer a milking machine on credit and took the cow for a down payment.

I’ve got a couple of points of interest people might want to think about. The Benghazi attack over in Libya, what’s the possibility that the ambassador knew something, or was trying to blow the whistle on something the government didn’t want to know, so they let him die rather than help any. And other people just happened to get in the way. And, also, since Obama has this anti-gun propaganda going, what do you think about the fact he may have orchestrated the Connecticut Sandy Hook school shooting to further his agenda? Think about that for a little bit. Bye

Editor’s Note: I’m not a big fan of Obama, but he has done nothing in his life to indicate he would kill 20 innocent young children.

I would like to apologize to an employee at the Hilltop Road post office for bothering her. I thought I was a customer. But, obviously, the only customer service she knows is do not bother her. Do not worry, I will never bother you again, because I will drive across town rather than go to the Hilltop post office again and receive the rudeness that I received from you. No wonder the post office has trouble. Bye.

I agree with you folks about ex-Gov. Bev “Dumpling” Perdue’s greatest accomplishment may have been that she was able to stay out of jail. I would add one more accomplishment. That she was able to be a one-term governor. For that, I think we can all be very grateful.

Yeah, this gun law that Biden and all of them are talking about passing, well, you’ve always heard the old saying. Why lock the henhouse after the fox has been in it? The people that has the guns are always going to have the guns. And everybody out buying up guns now. They’re going to pass a gun law? Ha, ha, ha. That’s their intelligence. Real smart.

Hello. Are you sick and tired of the communist, the Kenyan communist at that, trying to grab our guns? This is nothing but a product of the new world order. They will grab our guns, and they will make slaves of us all. They will make slaves of us all. As for me, I’ve decided I’d rather die a free man than live as a slave. So, when they come after them, they’re going to get something they wasn’t expecting.
It’s just so wonderful to know that there are citizens out there, and lawmakers out there, who want to implement new gun laws, you know, that’s really going to help a lot. That will show those criminals and nutcases who’s boss around here. Yes, Siree.

Oh, hi. I’m a Republican. My concern is that the Democratic Party, or Democrats, Obama, is taking control of the gun situation, and if we sit on our behinds, if our representatives, Republican representatives, sit on their behinds and do nothing, we will lose this fight. Something has to be done. Criminal checks, whatever, mental health. Some leadership has to be made by the Republicans in the house and the Senate, or this is going to wipe out the middle class families. They’ll shift to the Republicans – to the Democratic Party. Talk to you later. Bye.

As I sit here listening to the City Council meeting, I will have to say I agree with Bellamy-Small in reference to those trees and the ice forming on them and being without power for seven days. Well, I am one of those who was without power for seven days a couple of years ago, and it ain’t no fun. I can assure you of that. And if Duke Power wants to trim trees, I will more than welcome them to come over in Glenwood and clean out the back lines where the trees are hanging over and they need to be cleaned out. There’s a lot of people get their power from the back of their house instead of on the front, which runs up and down the street. So, if they want to cut trees, I can show them plenty of them to cut in Glenwood. More than welcome. Thank you.

I understand the NRA gets a large chunk of its income from the gun manufacturers and has representatives from the gun manufacturers on its board. Enough said.

What’s wrong with the NRA saying that the first family is safe because they are in private school? Every politician, Democratic, Republican, liberal, wouldn’t dare send their kids to a public school. They laugh, and they say my child is better than a public school. Ho, ho, ho. I’m going to pay $10,000, $15,000 to $25,000 a year for pre-educating my child up until high school. My child is protected. Yeah, the NRA spoke the truth. It’s very much the truth. The first family is not in harm’s way when they go into their learning institution and lock the doors. They’re safe. Public schools are as good as the parents. I’ve said, and I’ve raised three in the public school system, and all three have college degrees, and two are working …

This is in response to a beep, Thursday, Jan. 17 in reference to the 21-year-old female driver who lost her life by a Greensboro police officer chasing. She did not commit a crime, the man said. She had revoked license. She was warned, being stopped by the police officer. She crashed the car herself. She took her own life. They did not take her life. Had she been operating legally with a license that she should have have, this incident would never have occurred. She would never have tried to avoid the police. She’s the one who sped away once the officer turned the lights on. It’s her fault she did. And the police have a right to investigate any suspicious activity on our highways. That’s what we demand of them. So, let’s give them a cheer for doing their job and quit being hard on them all of the time. Thank you very much. Goodbye.

In regards to the young woman, 21 years old, driving with a revoked license that the policeman tried to pull over, and she tried to run away from him, had a wreck and died. That was not the policeman’s fault. That was her fault for not pulling over when the police officer came up behind her and turned on his lights. It’s that simple. If you decide you’re going to run from the law, and then you wreck and die, that’s your fault, not the policeman’s. And it’s been raining for the last few days pretty heavily, dark and dreary. What are all these fools doing riding around in their cars with their headlights off? Sometimes your headlights are so other people can see you, not so you can see. Think about it.

Hey, dummy, you’re the one that needs to get it about what a passing lane is. In a four-lane, six-lane, or eight-or-more lane highway or street, all of the lanes, other than the total right-hand lane, are passing lanes. None of them, however, are speeding lanes, lanes that you can exceed the speed – posted speed limit. You’re the one that needs to get it. Speeding is against the law no matter which lane you’re in, buddy.
