Shugart in Northern High Point

Meadow Valley by Shugart Enterprises is a quiet community of single-family homes in northern High Point, just off Skeet Club Road.
Its central location makes it convenient to Kernersville, Greensboro and Winston-Salem as well as downtown High Point. Just a short drive from Meadow Valley are I-40, NC 68 and the US 311 bypass. Nearby, you’ll also find the new Palladium at Deep River shopping center, the Piedmont Triad Farmers’ Market, and the beautiful 800 acre Oak Hollow Lake with all its water related activities and recreational features.
Meadow Valley offers 21 home plans ranging in size from just over 1,500 square feet to approximately 3,000 square feet. Nine of the home plans are ranch designs, many with optional bonus room add-ons, and 12 plans are two-story homes.
Shugart’s most recent model is the two-story Mayfield, which is the first model to include a three-car garage. Numerous upgrades such as granite countertops and ceramic backsplashes are now standard features in the Mayfield and all Meadow Valley homes. Additional standard features now include 9-foot ceilings on the first floor, smooth-top GE ranges, GE Energy Star dishwashers, and built-in GE microwaves. Each of the first floor rooms has 4 5/8” crown molding and 5 1/4” baseboards giving the house a custom-built feel.
Outdoors, standard exterior features include concrete driveways and sidewalks, a concrete patio, Certainteed 20-year roofing shingles, seamless aluminum gutters and low maintenance vinyl siding and utilities are underground.
Linda Weaver, Shugart’s new home sales consultant for Meadow Valley, said she is excited about the new upgrades and the three-car garage model. She said that a lot of people really want a three-car garage because they have a boat or a special car, or they want extra storage space for bikes and lawn and garden equipment. Often, too, each member of the family has a car, so the additional bay is really appreciated.
Weaver pointed out the special features of the 2,739-square-foot Mayfield model, such as the large master suite and walk-in closet. Upon entering the house, there is a room to the left of the foyer that Weaver calls a “flex” room. This room can be used in a variety of ways – as an office, a dining room, or perhaps a bedroom. In the model, the entry to the room is through a graceful arch, and there is crown molding and wainscoting defining the room’s outlines.
Across the foyer from the flex room is a powder room and a unique built-in, arched niche that would be perfect for a floral arrangement or statuary. The niche is only found in this particular house, and is not a standard feature.
The 9-foot ceilings in the spacious great room and kitchen give the home an open, airy feel as you as you move toward the back of the house. A large bay window overlooks the backyard and defines the dining area. The kitchen is waiting for the homeowner to choose the cabinets, appliances and floor coverings.
Purchasers of Meadow Valley homes are able to choose the colors and a myriad of options for their new home at Shugart’s Design Center. From faucets to carpeting, there are over 5,000 options from which to choose, so a Design Center appointment for homebuyers can be an exciting experience.
Upstairs in the Mayfield are four bedrooms and a large loft. The loft is bright and cheery and has a built-in window seat and closet. The loft is a real multi-purpose room that can be used in many different ways, including turning it into an optional fifth bedroom.
The master bedroom has a tray ceiling, a walk-in closet, and its own bath with a shower. There is a full bath in the hallway that serves the three other large bedrooms.
This Mayfield model is priced at $210,275, and the buyer can get 50 percent off up to $20,000 in options and/or upgrades. There are special incentives available for all Meadow Valley homebuyers through Shugart’s “More Bang for Your Buck” fall incentive, but this special offer is only good for a limited time.
Buyers who build a home in Meadow Valley can choose two free packages from four that are offered. Choices include a laundry package, a luxury master bath package, a stainless appliance, package and a deluxe fireplace package. Or, a buyer may choose 50 percent off up to $20,000 in options and upgrades.
All of the incentives are based on using Shugart Enterprises’ preferred lender and attorney and are a limited time offer. Linda Weaver can give you all the details when you visit Meadow Valley.
Also at Meadow Valley is a lovely 1,616-square-foot fully finished three-bedroom ranch that is move-in ready and waiting for just the right buyer. Priced at $171,580, the home sits on a corner lot and has a stone and cedar shake front exterior. Like the Mayfield, the airy home has 9-foot ceilings and an open floor plan, as well as a large bay window in the dining area overlooks the backyard and fills the home with light.
There are upgraded cabinets in the kitchen, granite countertops, a ceramic backsplash and black appliances. Although the kitchen floor covering and carpeting have already been chosen, they are neutral colors that will fit any decorating scheme.
All Meadow Valley homes come with a one-year workmanship warranty through Shugart Enterprises, and a 10-year structural warranty through Quality Builders.
Buyers also have the option of adding an Energy Star package when they build a home. Houses built to the EPA’s strict guidelines for energy efficiency have lower utility bills, healthier indoor air, and help reduce our nation’s energy needs.
Shugart Enterprises has been building homes in the triad since 1966, and in 2010 they were ranked as the largest triad homebuilder.
