This made my day
May 27, 2013 | 12:22 PM

Wow.... I am speechless, not only is O.S.C my favorite writer of all time. I was searching for a movie critic who said it how it is... and then I read this and am so relieved to find someone not singing praises to a D movie that I had to see the author... and it was my favorite writer, Enders and Subtle Knife... must reads. Anyways. I am going to bookmark this site and this is my new Fandango, rotten tomatoes and imdb rolled into one.

What the Rhino Times has accomplished
May 26, 2013 | 11:21 PM

I think the Rhino Times has done a fantastic job of letting us know what our local government has been up to. And it is our right to know since our elected officials are supposed to be serving us. As I've said before the Rhino Times has acted as a restraint to wrongdoing. I've seen a lot of change for the good through your reporting. Thanks!

I worked hard to tell people what Obama was all about before the election. My mom said I was going to run all my friends off, but I said someone has to speak up for America. You have given a very legitimate illustration of what could happen, unless Congress and the States wake up for real. The people in this country have no clue what could really happen. Great Work OSC

Henry Tudor and Hitler
May 22, 2013 | 07:07 PM

I wish you'd write on the admiration Hitler held for Henry Tudor, (Henry VII) and Adolps's emulation of Henry's methods of using bribery and violence to exterminate and control his enemies.,

The F-words are part of the character. Removing them, would make him more, I dunno, wholesome than he intended.

There are always parts of characters, events, or simple language in stories that we may find unnecessary, but the author put them there for a reason.

Excellent writing and frighteningly plausible. They are very successful at indoctrinating our children already. Just listen to the garbage the kids are REPEATING from school. They are NOT teaching how to think but what to think.!

I will greatly miss the print edition every week. Even though I live in Randolph County, I loved seeing you tell the truth about all the money Guilford and Gbo spends. Why not put coin vending machines out and charge for the paper?

Heck, the taxpayers of High Point can't even get a detailed accounting to the well over $100,000 in cash and services "granted" to Sim's Coltrane Festival. You think they're going to find out what happened to the estate money? Good luck.

Hey, I'm from NJ and I read the Rhino every week, largely for the OSC column. I've never seen a print copy of this paper in my life. But I've been reading it for over a decade.

I hope you'll be back
May 17, 2013 | 12:15 PM

I'm so sorry to hear the Rhino is closing down. I know this would not be happening had we had a president who paid more attention to the economy than to his golf game. I would guess your company falls under the description of a "small business". I hope Obamacare didn't have anything to do with your closing, but it sure would not surprise me. My hope is the economy will turn around and you will be able to reorganize. Greensboro needs you. Best wishes for the future and hope to see you back in print soon.

Mr. Card,
We've enjoyed reading your CW column for these many years and will miss it and the very sound reasoning behind your thinking. Your articles have always had amazing clarity, not just in the brilliant thoughts, but getting them across to the reader in a way that is enlightening, not patronizing. We hope you find a way to continue this column - or a variation of it, that you can share with all of us.

We are in trouble without anyone to "keep 'em honest. I would gladly pay a subscription fee to have your weekly delivered. The PO has limited and declining mail volume; thus needs the circulation.

I am a retired CPA and willing to donate my services. Bet others would sign up to keep it going.

Ha ha ha. this is going to fail so epically! I can't wait. Card and Hammer are in such denial.

Oh one more thing:

"The Rhino has been well-managed and well-written"

If it was "well-managed" it wouldn't be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. And "well-written" ? Sure if you are a right-wing nutjob.
