Shugart's Weatherstone community of single-family homes and townhomes in Kernersville is ideally situated to take advantage of all that the triad has to offer. Off Union Cross Road – just a quarter mile north of US 311 and less than a mile south of I-40 – residents can be in downtown Kernersville, High Point, Greensboro or Winston-Salem in no time. And it's just a 15 minute drive to Piedmont Triad International Airport, making it ideal for those who travel frequently for business.

Shugart offers buyers at Weatherstone the choice of 18 single-family home plans, ranging from 1,500 square feet to over 3,000 square feet, in the Simply Shugart Collection. There are 10 Simply Shugart townhome plans as well, starting at 1,255 square feet and going up to a spacious 1,757 square feet.

Seven of the single-family home plans are ranch designs, many with optional bonus room add-ons; and 11 plans are two-story homes. All the homes include a two-car garage and patio, and standard features include Marsh cabinets in the kitchen and bath, Formica countertops, hardwood flooring in the foyer, and GE appliances in either black or white. Interior paints are low VOC (volatile organic compound) and heating and air-conditioning units are high efficiency. Both single family and townhomes also come with a 10-year Structural Quality Builders Warranty.

New Homes Sales Consultant Sarah Draughn pointed out that since Shugart is a semi-custom builder, purchasers of a Weatherstone home are able to make changes to the existing floor plans when they build a home. They are also able to choose their room colors as well as a myriad of options for their new home at Shugart's Design Center. From faucets to carpeting, there are over 5,000 options from which to choose, so a Design Center appointment for home buyers is an exciting experience.

Buyers who build a home in Weatherstone can choose three free incentive packages from four that are offered. Choices include a gourmet kitchen package with granite countertops, undermount stainless steel sink and ceramic backsplash; a luxury master bath package with raised height vanity, granite-look bullnose edge countertop, sliding glass stainless shower door and raised height toilet; a stainless GE appliance package with smooth top range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator; and the deluxe fireplace package that includes a ceramic surround, deluxe painted mantel and a blower kit. Or a buyer can choose to receive 50 percent off of up to $20,000 in options and upgrades.

Purchasers of one of Shugart's inventory houses may customize their new home by choosing two of four special incentive packages: a stone fireplace package that includes a direct-vent fireplace, cultured stone facade, cultured stone hearth, mantel with stone brackets and a blower kit; a laundry package with a front-loading washer, front-loading dryer, a pair of pedestals and 30-inch Kent cabinets above the washer and dryer (per plan); a stainless GE appliance package with smooth top range, microwave, Triton model dishwasher, refrigerator and garbage disposal; a universal package that includes a ceramic tile backsplash, single crown Kent molding on kitchen cabinets, garbage disposal, mobile kitchen island with Kent cabinets, chain drive garage door opener, a ceiling fan in master bedroom and chrome sliding shower door in the master bath; or a $3,000 closing cost package.

All of the incentives listed are good through March 21, 2013, and are based on the use of Shugart Enterprises' preferred lender and attorney.

Be sure and ask Sarah for details when you visit Weatherstone.

Buyers also have the option of adding an Energy Star package when they build a home. Houses built to the EPA's strict guidelines for energy efficiency have lower utility bills, healthier indoor air and help reduce our nation's energy needs.

Weatherstone is conveniently located between Union Cross Elementary School and Glen High School, making it a great community for families.

The family-oriented town of Kernersville has programs for nearly every interest and age group through its Parks and Recreation Department. Sports are high on the list of family activities, and you'll find everything from swimming to the latest sports craze, pickleball.

Soon there will be another convenient feature for Weatherstone residents – the new Union Cross Towne Centre at the intersection of Union Cross Road and I-40. The nearly 300,000-square-foot centre will be a two-story mixed-use development. There will be retail on the first level and office and living spaces on the second floor. There will also be a movie theatre, a drug store and a bank, as well as a hotel. Nearby, too, is a grocery store, gas station and more restaurants, so Weatherstone residents have everything they need close at hand.

Shugart Enterprises has been building homes in the triad since 1966, and in 2010 they were ranked as the largest triad homebuilder. Quality Builders Warranty Corporation recently awarded Shugart its 2013 Builder of Integrity Award. The award is given to a builder who has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in customer service that goes above and beyond the industry norm.
