Part of the problem for the GOP also ...
December 06, 2012 | 10:24 AM

.. Was that so many commentators, such as Hugh Hewitt, Jennifer Rubin, George Will, Dick Morris, Charles Krauthammer and others lied about the state of the election for months.

Go back and read some of the tripe they wrote in the final weeks of the campaign -- that a Romney win as a done deal, that the election "cake is baked" (Hewitt's words) and other such nonsense. If you were a casual Repbublican voter, you may well have decided there was no need to vote because they were telling you it was already a lock. Meanwhile, they either scared or hacked off enough Democratic voters that they made sure they got to the polls.

As pundits, they had every right to advocate on behalf of their candidate. But it was intellectually dishonest of them to paint a totally false picture of the electoral landscape. Anyone who was halfway following legitimate polls and in-depth data analysis in the closing weeks of the campaign the right-wing pundits were selling a load of garbage and insulting to their intelligence.

If anyone continues to put stock in one word this band of idiots has to say about anything -- especially regarding the outcome of the next electiion -- it will truly amazing. These pundits are the first ones to whine about the so-called "left wing media" and its collective bias. But they are actually the ones whose credibility has been shot to hell.
