BBC "Sherlock" November 01, 2012 | 06:14 PM
If your only exposure to the BBC's new "Sherlock" is the shortened-for-American-TV version, get thee to Amazon.com (or maybe .uk) and get the dvds. Each episode is 90 minutes, not 44. It's not a good hour-long show because it's not an hour-long show at all.
If you're looking for a good English police procedural that is an hour long, check out "New Tricks." The writing is always excellent. The show also admits to the existence and usefulness of people over 40. Shocking, I know.
