To the last poster:
Why do you think gay marriage deserves special privilages and why do you think gay and heterosexual marriage is equivilant? Your question about follow the money is spot on though, it's all about the money. Gays want the same monetary perks that traditional marriage receives without providing the same benefit to society. If you really want equality then there should be no special status at all and a single person should have the same rights as any couple.
