Salaries and generally wasteful spending.....

I've worked for government for quite a while. NOT in Guilford. The salary list along with the job descriptions helps explain why the taxes here are the most miserable I've ever seen. Between handing out money to people who wont work,having facilities whose style and form far outweigh their function, and paying ridiculous amounts of money to marginally educated, trained, and poorly performing employees- well, you get the point. I'm rather certain that quite a bit of money spent on salaries doesn't go on this list. EMS, for example. Don't those folks work scheduled overtime? Bet it isn't included. Same for part time salaries. It's long been known that Guilford County is the place to go if you want to make money in government, as long as you can put up with some pretty miserable management and pointless, insane policies that serve no useful purpose. Guilford County is not a model in efficiency, it's an example of how not to run local government in a fiscally responsible manner. The fix? Remove the idiots on the board and get someone to take a real world, hard look at how money is wasted here. No, not another damn salary study that's going to bring out a few dings while supporting the machine. Get people who know the business of government and who have had to get by with a lot less to show Guilford leaders how to do this. It's wasteful and shameful and I despise living here. My fix? Damn right, I'm moving. In the process of doing so now. But really folks, this BS needs to end.
