"to compare a teacher's salary to a 12 month salary you need to divide the salary by 10 and then multiply by 12. For example, a teacher being paid $71,000 a year is making the same monthly salary as a 12 month employee who is paid $85,200 a year"
$71,000/year is $71,000/year. If a Realtor sells a house and makes $10000 for 10 months his salary is not $120,000 especially if for 2 months out of the year he's not selling houses.
