Disappointed May 04, 2012 | 11:02 AM
In high school I read several books from the Ender's Game series and considered them to be my favorite books for quite a long time, with Card being my favorite author.
That being said, after reading this article (even as a heterosexual male) the absurdity of its content totally discredits the high opinion I once had of this author's intelligence and creative capacity. I am afraid that I would be ashamed to call you my favorite fiction author anymore.
Gay marriage does not destroy traditional marriage values. In fact, it does just the opposite. It tells people that they can create a family with someone that they actually love instead of being forced to either marry someone they do not have true feelings for or stay single forever. The argument that they cannot biologically produce children and this type of relationship is unnatural sickens me. Have you thought that perhaps the world could use more couples willing to adopt the children that otherwise grow up in orphanages or foster homes? If even a small fraction of these children went to loving homes with homosexual parents you simply can't deny that their lives would be better off and that in fact, society would be better off.
Sincerely, Used to be your biggest fan
Isaac Maddox
