March 04, 2010 Al Gore must be shaking in his pants right now. The health care bill is well over 2,700 pages. It has been copied at least 1,000 times, just by the people that run our Senate and Congress and our elected officials. Just imagine all those trees destroyed. They're not greening our planet. They're making it a carbon mess. People need to wake up. A bill is a bill. Make it what it is. Don't put all this garbage in it and waste energy by putting it on paper that's worthless after they use it. It's just like their mouths. Everything that comes out of it is just a bowl of soup. No substance. It just floats away.

Thank you, Jerry Bledsoe, for your article informing the citizens of Greensboro the truth about our police chief, Bellamy. We appreciate your input, and we would hope that you will continue inform us of the truth of things that are going on in Greensboro. Bye.

Boo hoo, poor Chief Tim Bellamy. His feelings have been hurt. Give him a box of Kleenex for his retirement. Police morale will go up now. Good riddance, and goodbye. Boo hoo.

Yes, I see where the girl in Durham that was involved with the Duke lacrosse team has been arrested for arson now. I wonder if Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are standing up to their commitments to pay for full tuition for college. Maybe we can get Skip and Earl to help pay for that also. Thank you.

Hi. I would like you to find out what sort of honorariums and expenses were paid to Mr. Jackson and Mr. Sharpton when they came down last month. And I'd also like to find out who's going to pay for the overtime for the people that cleaned the streets uptown when they should have been out cleaning in the neighborhoods, if the sit-in movement is going to pay for that. Can you find out and print that, please? Thank you.

Yeah, this is for the dim light bulb. If you don't grab a chain saw while it's running, how do you cut with it? Thank you.

It's Wednesday. The Greensboro News & Record says council questions Coliseum operations. They're actually going to talk about privatizing the Greensboro Coliseum, which should have been done 25 years ago. Any place that loses as much money as that place does needs to be leased out to somebody, and it would be a check coming to the Coliseum – coming to the city every month, clear money, and that would be the end of it. I've said all along they don't know where they're putting the money in the bank. You can't go out there and buy anything unless it's ridiculously priced, and it's $5 when you pull off the street just to park your car, and you pay till you leave. You never quit paying. They need to privatize it. If there has ever been one, City Council needs to do something, this is the one that needs to do it.

Editor's Note: The last plan to privatize the Coliseum included a generous subsidy from the city. So the city wouldn't get out of paying for it, but would lose control. The worst idea is the authority.

This is about the article in the News & Record on Saturday regarding Chief Bellamy being upset with the mayor, who made a comment that he was only hired because of his race. I saw it and read it. It was probably in The Rhino Times when Bellamy got hired or promoted, whatever you want to call it, it was down to three people. And I thought it was one of them dropped out. And their reason for dropping out was they said something to the effect, it was obvious from the beginning that Bellamy was the person who they wanted. It was just a formality that they had this hiring process. And I thought that was the case in the department that Bellamy was going to get it anyway. But I just don't understand how they think he was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. The man couldn't talk his way out of a wet paper bag. But that's just me. See you.

I'm 75 years old, and I've voted in every election since I've been able to vote. I'm a veteran. I'm a taxpayer. I'm a businessman. I actually honestly believe that Obama is trying to destroy this country from within. Think about it. Where he came from, what we knew about him, all the people he's surrounded himself with, the decisions that they've made about this health care thing. I honestly believe that. When I lay down at night my conscious is clear. I believe it. I don't know what we're going to do about it.
My Cablevision went out just as Obama was arriving at the health care summit. And there is supposedly a large area in – somewhere in Greensboro that is out, and I'm sure it was because of they don't want us to see the arguments. Thank you.
Editor's Note: Be thankful, it was boring.
Yeah, I was reading the article about WFMY and Bellamy having to retire because he was hurt by the racial remarks. But isn't it ironic that channel 2, WFMY, just recently got rid of two white guys and replaced him with a black guy, because the only other black person they had on the air retired. So, I wonder how Frank Mickens feels. Maybe Mack Ingraham could do an in-depth report on that and share experiences with the rest of us.
If I understand it, I'm watching the health care debate on Fox News Live. Obama seems to have all the answers for everything. Where did he get so knowledgeable on how to do this stuff? My understanding is he's never run a business. He's never had a payroll. He's never managed people. Where did he learn all this all of a sudden? I don't understand this. I guess I just need to crawl back into my hole until this is all over.
Hey, yes, I'm calling in regard to Greensboro. I am outraged and just mad at the tactics that occur here. The newcomer, from what I've learned, the Police Department, the council and the commissioners all should be placed on public display and ridiculed and rocked because it's a shame the way they are doing here. Very unprofessional, very pitiful and just outrageous. Also, regarding the jobs. You cannot get a job here in Guilford County. That's why they freeze the jobs. And once they freeze them they give them to their friends and what have you. It is a disgrace what goes on here in Guilford County. Thank you.
Also, I think The Rhinoceros Times is one of the best newspapers. They cover and get to the core of what's going on. Why do the people here in Guilford County allow all of this to happen? It's like downtown they run amuck. If anyone has ever applied for a job here, you speak, it will be open. It will be closed. And it will go to in-house, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, cousin. Everyone's related. The general public cannot get a job. Mr. Young, you need to look into hiring and what's going on in your office. Everybody is incompetent. Get rid of them. Bye.
Well, I think Greensboro Police Chief Tim Bellamy should have tapped somebody. But it looks like it caught him. I don't think he's been telling what he knows about the past problems they've had in the department. So, they might as well go ahead and tell it all now since he's retiring. Thank you.
I'm concerned about our news anchors, especially on channel 8. Every time they're saying the word Winston-Salem or naming the city they just say Winston. I have called them on this several times. They don't seem to want to change it. When you're talking about High Point, you don't just say High, you say High Point. When you say Winston-Salem, that's the name of the combined cities, and the name is Winston-Salem, it's not just Winston anymore. That's been changed for years and years and years. Please get our television news anchors to realize Winston-Salem is the name of our neighboring city. Bye-bye.
Hello to all. I was not going to do this, but I changed my mind. I think you need to know what has been going on at Eastern Guilford High School this week alone. Every smart lunch on this week there has been one or two fights every day. There are so many in there during smart lunch period it don't make no sense. This is the same thing, is a good idea having all those kids in there for whatever reason. Some of the personnel don't think so. We are the ones who have to risk our lives to try to stop the fights with limit restraints. They had to call extra policemen every day this week to stop all the fighting that has been going on.
To continue. There have been 11 fights according to the students here at Eastern Guilford High School. We need to stop this lunch. We need to stop all these kids from being here together so there can be so many fights. Again, we need to think about our students and their wellbeing alone, as well as our staff members here at Eastern Guilford High School. Thank you.
Yes, I've just been reading the latest Bledsoe article about WFMY with their mention. I'd like to suggest all The Rhino Times' readers, if you see a company, a business that sponsors the WFMY news, that you contact that company and tell them you're going to boycott them as long as they have anything to do with that WFMY News station. WFMY needs to be hit where it hurts. Any kind of sponsorship or commercials that sponsor that program, contact those businesses and tell them that they will be boycotted. Thank you.
Yes, I think it's very important for everybody to go to Google NHTSA to see if their car has a safety recall. You'd be amazed. There's just millions and millions of cars. Almost every make, every model, every year has some kind of safety recall. I was never aware of until I started watching the congressional hearings. Again, go Google the term NHTSA. And they've got a website in there you can look up every car, every year, every model to see what kind of safety recalls there are. And believe me, it covers just about every car out there. Thanks.
The TV news recently quoted Chief Bellamy of saying the reason he's retiring was a statement by Mayor Knight that he is not qualified. Fact is, he was part of the Mitch Johnson plan to get rid of Chief Wray. And as a reward he was promoted to chief. What has he done to clean up the Police Department as chief? An assistant chief was recently suspended, and officers involved in a murder trial in Durham. Lt. Hinson is still on the force, along with other officers who should have been fired for conduct unbecoming of a police officer. Corruption still exists. Personally, I think Mayor Knight was correct in a recent interview on channel 2 concerning what the mayor said about his qualifications.
Yeah, could you publish contact information on Councilmember Danny Thompson and Mayor Knight so that we will know how to contact them? Thank you.
Editor's Note: You can call Bill Knight at 373-2396 and Danny Thompson at 402-1946.
The health summit of Feb. 25 proposed by Barack Hussein Obama, whatever he wants to call himself, the dictator of the communist-country-to-be, proved that our education system is broke. He claimed before the meeting started that both sides would have equal time. He ran his mouth more times than the Republicans did for all 17 in the room at the Blair House. The Democratic pundits from the Congress and the Senate had more than twice as much time as the Republicans. They can't do basic math. Our education system must be broke, because he said equal time, but yet they were extremely greater, over three times more time than the Republicans. Maybe they need to go back and see what kind of education they had, because they can't add.
