Republicans always say they believe in states rights to handle their own affairs. I am a firm believer in that as well, however, when Republicans take any type of action at the state or local level they are regarded as being too liberal. They don't claim to be libertarian, which believes in the most extreme form of no government intervention. Somebody somewhere has to create policies. When Republicans decide to spend any money at the state or local levels they are shunned. You need to ask if you're really a Republican or a libertarian.
